JS Marlin & Associates has over 30 years of combined experience assisting property owners in documenting, assessing, and estimating property losses caused by hurricanes, floods, fires, thefts, sinkholes, collapses, and any other events addressed by insurance policies. About: Jonathan Amato

Jonathan Amato began his journey in the insurance and construction industry through the influence of his father. In 1992, when Jonathan was just 16 years old, his father joined State Farm in the aftermath of Hurricane Andrew, which had devastated Dade County. This event marked Jonathan’s first experience with insurance inspections, and it set the stage for a career dedicated to helping others recover from natural disasters.

In 1994, Jonathan and his father traveled to Northridge after a 6.7 magnitude earthquake struck the San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles. Then, in 1998, they were in the Florida Keys following the destruction caused by Hurricane Georges. These early experiences cemented Jonathan’s commitment to the industry, and he has been working tirelessly ever since.

Jonathan officially obtained his Florida All Lines Adjuster license in 2003. Today, he is a licensed independent insurance adjuster with over 22 years of experience in construction and claims handling. His certifications include NFIP, IICRC, HAAG, and Xactimate Level 2. Jonathan is also a proud member of the "WIND" and “IAUA” networks as well as the "Society of General Adjusters."

Throughout his career, Jonathan has been licensed in multiple states and has worked on every major hurricane site between 2003 and 2022. He has inspected nearly ten thousand structures and has prepared countless damage repair estimates. His extensive experience spans working for insurance companies, contractors, attorneys, public adjusters, business owners, and homeowners. Additionally, Jonathan served as a project manager in the insurance restoration industry for several years.

Currently, Jonathan frequently assists parties with alternative dispute resolutions, such as mediation and appraisal. His vast experience, deep understanding, and specialized expertise make him an asset in bringing disputed claims to prompt and successful resolutions.

  Jonathan and his team came into the picture late in the process when things were looking quite bleak.  For over a year, the insurance company had stalled and offered pennies to repair my home.
