JS Marlin & Associates has over 30 years of combined experience assisting property owners in documenting, assessing, and estimating property losses caused by hurricanes, floods, fires, thefts, sinkholes, collapses, and any other events addressed by insurance policies. When your home or business sustains property damage, you need to get documentation and mitigation processes moving quickly. More importantly, you need it done correctly. Overlooking key details or failing to provide supporting evidence can jeopardize the entire process. We make sure critical information and proper documentation aren’t left out. Our estimators provide a polished, unbiased, third-party opinion, giving you a fair depiction of the property damage. Clients can feel confident that our reports will be professional in appearance and will be detailed with every possible line item that should be paid on a contractor or insurance claim.

I started working in the insurance and construction industry because of my father. In 1992 my dad went to work for State Farm after Hurricane Andrew hit Dade County. I was about 16 years old when I went on my first ride-along for inspections related to Hurricane Andrew. In 1994, we went to Northridge after the 6.7 magnitude earthquake decimated the San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles. In 1998, we were in the Florida Keys after Hurricane Georges. I guess you could say I have been working ever since. I “officially” got my Florida All Lines Adjuster license in 2003. I am now a licensed independent insurance adjuster and consultant with over 20 years of construction and claims handling experience. I have been NFIP Certified, IICRC Certified, HAAG Certified, and Xactimate Level 2 Certified. I am a member of “WIND,” and the “Society of General Adjusters.”

I have been licensed in several other states and I worked on every major hurricane site between 2003 – 2022. I have inspected nearly ten thousand structures and prepared countless damage repair estimates through the years. I have worked for insurance companies, contractors, attorneys, public adjusters, business owners, and homeowners. I was employed as a project manager in the insurance restoration industry for several years as well. Nowadays, I routinely assist parties with alternative dispute resolutions such as mediation and appraisal because I have the experience, understanding, and expertise that is needed to bring disputed claims to a prompt and successful resolution.
